Sailing at the Splashweeks

Are you between 8 and 11 years old and do you want to learn how to sail? Then you sail in the Optimist!

Sailing is best learned by experience, that’s why the Optimist is the ideal boat for the young pirates. This light-weight boat with 1 sail reacts very direct to the wind and the rudder. First we learn the basics, such as how to make the boat ready to sail, how to hoist the sails and how to steer. Then it’s already time to go onto the water!

The Optimist is a stable sailing boat, that you can sail in pairs, so convince your friends to go sailing with you! During the Splashweeks you will get to know sailing by doing all kinds of fun games and competitions on the water.

The activities are from Monday until Friday from 10am – 4pm. You have a lunch break (Mon-Thu) included, and on Friday we organize a picnic were everyone can bring something to eat!
