Sailing course Pico / Vago

From 12 to 16 years old

Are you between the ages of 12 and 16 and want to learn to sail? At Watersportcentrum Sloterplas we offer courses at three different levels that will help you become an experienced youth sailor. You will learn to sail Laser Pico and Laser Vago using different sailing techniques, maneuvers and theory. All this under the professional guidance of experienced instructors in small groups of enthusiastic sailors.

Pico / Vago level 1, 2 & 3

Level 1 – Beginner

Level 1 is sailed in the Pico. In the first level, you learn the basics of sailing. You will learn to gain control of the boat and feel safe in it. At Level I you start with little to no experience and you will end up as a novice sailor who has mastered the basic techniques. These will be taught during the course through training, competitions and games. Of course, you will also learn some theory such as knots and some sailing rules on the water. This beginner’s course is perfect if you have participated in Splash Weeks!

Level 2 – Intermediate

Level 2 and above is sailed in the Laser Vago. Now that you are a beginner sailor and have mastered the basics, you can move on to Level II. This follow-up course builds on Level I and focuses on sailing the boat independently, with new maneuvers waiting for you. Supplemented by associated theory and knots.

Level 3 – Advanced

Level 3 is sailed in the Laser Vago. After completing Level I and Level II, you may call yourself a practiced sailor. Level III will help you become an advanced, independent sailor. Changing weather conditions no longer scare you and new sailing techniques will be a breeze for you.
